“5 favorite gifts you have ever gotten or given – take it all the way back to the kid days” -Beth
1. Jesus:
I know, I know. But you know it’s true. He is the greatest gift I’ve ever been given and I cherish the day that I became a daughter to the king of kings in the summer of 2003. My life Before & After Christ is so amazingly different and I knew then that there was no going back, EVER! Yes, I have questions (so many to count indeed!) but I’ve been given more than enough answers by God and I can’t wait to get the rest of the answers when I see Him face to face. I have a mug that says, “Jesus is the reason for the season” and I try to tell myself that everyday.
2. Hubby & Daughter:
I used to think that I’d never get married or have a normal, happy life. (Ask my husband, he’ll tell you all the crazy things I used to think Before Christ! *^^*) When I made a decision to “allow” God to dwell in me about 8 years ago, He blessed me with so many things that I thought I could never have and the best of them all is my family. For some reason, this handsome Christ-follower hubby of mine decided to love me forever and God thought we’re good enough to be responsible for this beautiful daughter of ours (I know, it still is shocking!).
This morning, these two loves of my life were chasing after each other before Daddy left for work and my daughter giggled so hard, you’d think Christmas was here already! I love those little moments and I know everything else really doesn’t matter.
3. Jewelry from My Daddy:
I was never big on jewelry but I told my hubby the other day that as I’m getting older, I do like Jewelry more and more! It is true!! :-) But that is not why this is on my list. It’s more for the sentimental reasons. My Daddy (we emotionally adopted each other since I was 12 years old) gave me a Florida state shaped gold necklace for Christmas 1990 when he showed up at my house IN KOREA to surprise me. The gold ring was given to me about 10 years later, which he made for all of his daughters for his 70th birthday. Lastly, he gave me a gold cross necklace after my baptism in 2003. They all have significant meanings behind them and maybe that’s why I like them, other than the fact that it was given by my one and only Daddy, whom I love so much! I know I’ll cherish them for as long as I live and I’d hope that my daughter will keep them in memory of her Pops someday….
4. Figurines, Figurines, Figurines…:
I never thought I’d be one of those people who collect things but well, I found that I am indeed one of them! :-) I collect (by “collect” I mean “hubby buys it for me for occasions”) mostly figurines which are, Willow Tree, Country Artists Butterfly Fairies™ collection, Jim Shore and snow globes. They are just too pretty to look at and it makes me smile.
5. Theme Park Tickets!!!
Yes, I live in Orlando and theme parks are my life now that I have a little girl who just loves them! For the past two Christmas, both of our parents gave us gift money for Christmas to put towards our annual passes to theme parks and they brought us a year-long fun, laughter, happiness and beautiful memories! So thank you, parents! Honestly, I don’t know how families save like crazy for few years to come to Florida for a week-long vacation and I’m just so glad that we live here! At least we don’t have to worry about paying for lodging! :-)

5 of your favorite post that you have written on your blog” -Beth
1. Writer’s Block: I’m happy to have a writer’s block any time if that means my faith is strong in God and that my life is just peach because of God’s grace. God, I know you know this, but you ROCK! I love you so much!
2. My Ever Precious Little Darling…: This was the first letter to Bella that I wrote on this blog, which brings me a lot of memories. Plus, I love her picture from last winter…
3. I Have No Green Thumb: I talked about how I (pardon my French) suck at gardening. I know some of you are out there with me on this. Don’t try to deny it! :-) I must say though, my mom indeed made me a vegetable garden while staying with us this summer and it’s still alive and well! We have too many tomatoes though… *^^*
4. His Higher Ways: I wrote this for Granola Bar Devotional soon after my miscarriage and it’s a great reminder that God’s ways and thoughts are higher than mine….
5. Dad Life: This post doesn’t really have any content but it contains such a hilarious YouTube video. Sorry but I couldn’t help it!

Friday Fives: 5 TV Shows

“5 shows that are coming back on fall that you have missed over the Summer! That’s right we are talking TV AGAIN!!! ” -Beth
Everything is alright now that this show is back! :-) It’s really funny and so true!
I don’t really need to say anything else about this show, do I? I thought so. :-)
I have come to love the geeks after watching this show. You can’t stop laughing. I love Sheldon!!!
You’ll learn so many things about marriage. Watch it with your spouse. You don’t even have to communicate/talk. You’ll learn to nod and just look at each other. Messages have been sent. Who needs a counseling? :-)
We’ve been watching this for a couple years now and it’s pretty witty and funny, most of the time. I’m not sure about the whole murder and blood part….

Friday Fives:5 random questions

1. What’s your “comfort food”?
Korean food! I miss my Mommy!!!! :-(
2.One thing that’s on your mind right now?
Bella’s Halloween costume this year… I’m thinking Tinker Bell for now but it’s very possible that child will pick one of the Disney princesses. What age do that grow out of princesses anyway? :-)

3.what’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Your husband is not perfect but he has an authority over you and your household that was given by God.” I believe this was from my mother-in-law though not word by word and the Bible. This was one of the best advice I was given for I remind myself to rely on God first and not to expect “perfection” from my husband though he is perfect provision for me from God.
4.If you found $10 today, what would you do with it?
Get a glass of margarita. Yes, I’m perfectly aware of the fact that it’s not even 11am yet! *^^*
5.  What is your least favorite thing to clean in your house?
Everything? :-) If I must pick one, I’ll have to say the bathroom, specifically toilet & bathtub. It’s a good thing that my hubby does it!! (thanks, hon!) They are just gross and hard to reach with my poor back. I do sometimes clean the toilet when it’s just too dirty and I can’t stand it any longer and I must say I’m sooooooooooo not happy about it every time! :-)

Friday Fives: 5 things you remember about 9/11

Just Me and My Life

This week’s Friday Fives topic is 5 Things you Remember About the day  of September 11th.
1. I was in Korea that year, teaching English at a private language school. I remember the image of the world trade center bring attacked right after my last class which was about 10pm Korean time. I was so shocked and at first I didn’t believe it’s true.

2. I remember rushing home and I cried all the way home, not knowing what is going on. I missed my Dad in Florida and worried sick about those in the States I knew. All kinds of crazy thoughts came to me and all I could do was crying. I remember crying all night, watching CNN and BBC back and forth. I was completely horrified. I think I was glued to TV all night, sobbing, and very few words were spoken among my family that night.

3. I remember the firefighters and the rescue teams and the sacrifices they made for this country and the people. They are the most self-less and brave people I know. Enough said.

4. I remember little children and people in Middle East dancing and rejoicing in the streets. I was angry at them back then, but looking back, I’m saddened for them for being blinded by lies….

5. I remember the world trade center before the attack. I was lucky enough to visit the building few years before the attack and when I visited the ground zero in 2004, it was a totally different experience. It was sad indeed but not without hope and though it’s not my own, I was proud for this country and people who call themselves Americans.

Friday Fives: 5 things that are always in my fridge

Just Me and My Life

This week’s Friday Fives is 5 things that are always in my fridge and no, I wouldn’t dare to post a picture of my fridge! :-) There are so many things that I always have in my fridge but I’ll try my best to pick out just five. I’d love to have some scary and peculiar food/products to post (you know, with me being a Korean and all! *^^*) but like my mom says, I’m too “Americanized” and hardly have any Korean food in my fridge, unless of course when she visits! :-)
1. Hazelnut Creamer by International Delight. What can I say? I like my creamer with coffee. :-) No wonder I don’t check its calorie content when I fill my coffee mug with it!!
2. Gatorade. They were recommended by my cardiologist for its sodium content to ease my irregular heart rhythm and normally I have them in my fridge unless my 2 year-old gets her hand on them! When asked what she wants to drink, her favorite answer is not milk or juice but “Gatorade!!” Yes, it is my fault and it’s getting expensive to match her drink preference these days. :-)
3. Yoplait Light Yogurt. No, I don’t do Original or Thick & Creamy or Whips and am very loyal to Light! :-) No, I don’t want to go over its sugar content, thank you very much! Once again, my daughter transitioned herself from her baby yogurt to “Mommy yogurt” few months ago since she is a big girl now. *^^* At least I don’t have to buy two different kinds of yogurt!
4. Brianna Fine Salad Dressings. I was introduced to Brianna’s salad dressings by my dad’s wife a couple of years ago and it’s so yummy and they taste just like homemade! My favorite kinds are Real French Vinaigrette and Blush Wine Vinaigrette but really all of them are good! There are 14 different kinds of dressings by Brianna but our local grocery store only carries 4 different kinds. :-(
5. Crumbled Feta by President. I love feta cheese on my salad, yum! But of course, it’s good on every kind of food that the mankind eat! :-) I normally get the biggest size out there at Costco and keep it in my fridge at all times.

This weeks’ Friday Five is 5 things you do to relax, destress, contain your composure or that you just enjoy doing for yourself.
1. Get Massage from my hubby: This is my favorite relaxation method and my hubby’s least favorite and a stress factor! :-)  But he loves me so much that he doesn’t mind….I think… :-)
2. Watch Movies: Depends on how I feel, I can pick any movie accordingly and just watch it away. :-)  I would love to just stay in bed in my pjs and watch movies all day long!
3. Nap: Even if I take a 15 minutes nap, it does wonders to my stress!  It’s just so….yummy! :-)
4. Bath: Need I say more?  Nice warm bubble bath with soothing music and relaxing scent candles all around me…  Sometimes I watch a movie in my bubble bath which is a double stress reliever! :-)
5. Read: I know, I know, you never though you’d hear that from me but it’s true!  Ever since I started my 52 books in 2010 challenge, I like to just sit and read!  Good to my soul as well I’m sure. *^^*

Today’s Friday Five topic is 5 of your favorite blogs to read and though it’s extremely hard to pick just five, I thought I would list five blogs that I visited in the past few days.

1. 101 Cookbooks: Me no like cooking but I love looking at the photos of food! :-)  This blog by Heidi Swanson has everything from food, travel and beautiful photos and I visit to relax and calm myself down sometimes.

2. No Ordinary Moments: I love Jolanthe!  I have no idea who she is and she has no clue as to who I am but I like her blog.  It’s simple, funny, cute, personal and full of ideas!! She seems like a wonderful mom and godly Christ follower….

No Ordinary Moments Blog

3. Love Actually: I found this blog through Top Mommy Blogs and I loved it right away!  It contains so many ideas to spice up a marriage and I do run out of things to do with my hubby very often so I find it very helpful!

4. 5 I found this blog in February when I decided to challenge myself to read 52 books this year and this blog makes me wanna read every book it features!  Plus I participate its monthly What’s on Your Nightstand and I get so many ideas from other readers as to what to read and what not to read.

5. Mom’s Toolbox: I actually started the Bible in 90 Days challenge recently through this blog because I read about it from Jolanthe’s blog (#2 above from my list) and it has a lot of good advice for “real moms growing in Christ.”

Friday fives: 5 random questions

Just Me and My Life

Visit Beth @ just me and my life for more Friday Fives and link up!

1. If given a choice to skip work for a day, how would you spend the entire day?
Since I’m a stay at home mom, skipping work for a day means “Bella-free day” and I’d stay in my pj’s all day, reading books, watching movies, eating yummy take-outs, napping several times and end the day with a nice hot bath.  Yes, I’m that boring! :-)
2.If you could start fresh, what profession would you choose?
I’d be a nurse!  Besides the fact that I have so much respect for them (after dealing with them many times in the past few years), it doesn’t take as much time, money or stress for that matter to finish the school as a doctor.  Plus it has a pretty good job security and schedule could be very flexible and I could work at nights!  Best of all, I definitely could use the skill on raising a child and know what to do when my child is sick! *^^*
3.What is your favorite candy or candy bar?
Twix.  If Bella is not my child, I don’t think I’d share my Twix with her and no, Peter doesn’t get my Twix. :-)
4.Have your ever ordered anything from an infomercial or bought an”As seen on TV item“?
I remember laughing at my husband ordering some magic knife set in the middle of the night (when he was in graduate school) since he is so not that kind of guy.  I did order Proactive for my hubby a long time ago, which we returned for a full refund (thank you, Proactive!) just because Peter didn’t like it.  My latest purchase was one of those yoga toes and I seriously love them!!  It’s very handy not only to stretch your toes out but to separate your toes when putting nail polish on your toe nails!
5. What’s the movie you ALWAYS cry at??
I can’t really think of one right now although there are so many to name!!!  One movie I can think of is Meet Joe Black, especially the scene when the Anthony Hopkins character dances with Claire Forlani, his daughter, saying final good-byes without actually saying it.

Friday Fives:5 most favorite songs ever

Just Me and My Life

Visit Beth @ just me and my life for more Friday Fives and link up!

I’m not good with picking ONLY five all time favorite songs since they literally change every month!  (Yes, ask my husband; I change my mind on anything and everything daily!  No wonder he doesn’t take my “decisions” seriously. *^^*)  So I’ll post what my favorite five songs are these days.

1. Praise You In The Storm by Casting Crowns: I love my God and I’ll praise Him anytime and anywhere indeed, even in the storm!  Love Casting Crowns!!

2. Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord by Matt Redman: I always cry at the part, “Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering. Though there’s pain in the offering Blessed be Your name”  God does give and take away and His name will be blessed no matter what!

3. Gravity by Sara Bareilles: I heard this song for the first time in the show So You Think You Can Dance.  The dance was about the battle with addiction (of any sorts) and it was so memorable and portrayed the reality of addiction so well.  See if you don’t cry with the below clip!

4. Lost Without U by Robin Thicke: My work-out class instructor used this music a lot for stretching at the end of vigorous work out and somehow it was quite relaxing.  And the lyrics are rather sweet(?) and cute. :-)

5. Sad Tango by Bi: I’ve gotta add one song from my home country. :-)  Well, Bi is my favorite Korean singer but I’m afraid this song is in Japanese!  For some reason, this song sounds so much better in Japanese and the dance itself is quite entertaining.  By the way, don’t ask me what he’s saying because I have no idea! :-)
